Registered Dental Hygienist
Laura is a favorite among many of our patients, as she has been a member of our team since 1999. She graduated from Tarrant County College in 1998 with an Associate's Degree in Applied Science. Laura has been in the dental field since 1988 after obtaining her National Board Certification for dental assisting at Grayson County College. Having had 10 years of assisting experience before attending hygiene school she has a unique perspective for her hygiene patients that require treatment by doctors.
She is a native Texan, born in Irving and raised in Sherman. She continues to broaden her dental knowledge by attending continuing education courses directly enhancing her dental skills to provide the best clinical care for her patients. She holds several certifications: CPR, pit/fissure sealants, nitrous oxide monitoring, and laser treatments.
Laura currently resides in Sherman where she enjoys traveling, tending to her plants, and attending festivals and concerts.
Registered Dental Hygienist
Joining us in 2002, we are proud to say Emily has been with our team for 20 years. She graduated Collin College with an Associate of Applied Science in Dental Hygiene in 2002. A native from Longview, she now resides in McKinney with her son, Luke. Emily is active in furthering her knowledge of oral hygiene and patient healthcare by attending the Southwest Dental Conference, as well as the Texas Dental Association Meeting in San Antonio, annually. She maintains hours of continuing education courses that are technical or scientific with significant intellectual or practical content, used to enhance her skill in providing excellent clinical care. She is one of the smiling faces you’ll see on Fridays in our office. Schedule with her in advance, as she has quite the Friday following for appointments.
Emily enjoys spending time with Luke at his baseball games, traveling, scuba diving, and spending time with family and friends.
Registered Dental Hygienist
We were lucky to add Cynthia to our team. Her addition to the team has been a welcome one. Cynthia is thorough and active in maintaining her patient’s oral health. Big on patient education, she can help navigate how to take care of and help prevent future dental needs. Cynthia started out in the dental field as a dental assistant and loved the world of dentistry so much, she decided to further her passion and become a licensed Dental Hygienist. She graduated from El Centro College in 2020 with a degree in Dental Hygiene. Cynthia is currently pursing a Bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene at TWU. Born in Dallas, she now lives in Princeton with her husband and family.
Cynthia has four fur babies she tends to. She loves spending her time with her family and friends.
Registered Dental Hygienist
Emily V. joined our team in 2022. She graduated from Collin College in 2020 with an Associate of Applied Science in Dental Hygiene. Emily entered the dental field in 2015 and has been both a general dental assistant and an orthodontic assistant, but knew being a dental hygienist was always her dream. She is a 5th generation native Texan, born in Arlington and now living in Mckinney. Emily is passionate about furthering her dental hygiene career, and was even published in the September 2020 edition of Dimensions of Dental Hygiene for her research on the use of acupuncture to ease musculoskeletal pain of dental practitioners. Since joining our team, Emily has also received her laser certification as an adjunctive procedure to aid in the treatment of various oral diseases.
Outside the office she can be found leading knitting groups in Downtown Mckinney for young adults, spending time with family and friends, or going on adventures with her pup.
Dental Assistant
Having joined our family in 2005, Chris has worked alongside Dr. Kim for 17 years. As one part of their dynamic duo, Chris works hard to ensure your satisfaction and comfort. She loves helping our patients get the smile they love. Whether it be one crown or several, she is here to help you every step of the way. Oral health is as important to her as her patient’s level of confidence in their smiles and she is passionate about both. Her knowledge and skill in Cosmetic Dentistry is a valuable asset to our team.
Chris can be seen spending time with her better half, Tony, and daughter. Family time is important to her and she makes the most of it.
Dental Assistant
Patsy joined our practice as an experienced oral surgery assistant in 2015. Her skills and warm heart help her connect with our patients and guide them through their surgical needs, as well as alleviating any concerns they may have. She assists Dr. Koelker with General Dentistry, as well as Oral Surgery. Patsy graduated Dallas Dental Replacements Assistant School in 2013 and has expanded her certifications to include sealants and coronal polishing. Helping all our patients, Patsy feels most passionate about helping our patients with dental anxiety by assisting with our IV sedation process. Her goal is to make you feel at ease while here at The Dentist of Allen.
Outside of the office, Patsy can be found traveling with her husband. She loves and cares for her two fur babies and enjoys spending time with her nephew and two nieces.
Hygiene Coordinator
Clariza has been in the dental field for over 10 years and has a vast knowledge on patient care and insurance benefits. Clariza enjoys educating our patients on their dental plans and the importance of their routing oral healthcare. Working with our Dental Hygienists, Clariza works hard to ensure you have a great visit with us.
Weekends are for spending ample time having fun with her six children and family. She loves to do weight training and travel.
Treatment Coordinator
A native Texan, Rachel grew up in Michigan, returning to Texas in 2007 to start her career in the dental field. Having obtained her RDA from Collin College, Rachel joined The Dentist of Allen team in 2010 as a dental assistant. After two years with our practice she stepped into our Treatment Coordinator role. Rachel is glad to have made a move into the front office where she feels she can best serve our patients. Rachel has been with our practice for 12 years now and is glad to have found her “dental family”, as she calls it. Rachel has been with us long enough to have become engaged, married, bought a house and is now raising two young children with her husband of 10 years.
Rachel’s weekends find her on the ball field with her son or the soccer field with her daughter. She loves planning fun family activities and going to events with them.
Insurance Coordinator
Amie grew up in Collin County and loves being a true Texan, she works diligently as a business and insurance coordinator for the Dentist of Allen, joining the team with decades of dental experience. Amie works closely with patients to ensure financial matters are handled with care and detail. Amie utilizes her education in Business Administration from East Texas State University to assist the practice with many daily functions, making sure patients have the best possible experience.
Amie and her husband enjoy traveling to visit her grown children. She also enjoys cooking, reading, and playing with her fur children (Golden Retriever and English Bulldog).
