Teeth Cleaning
Patients are encouraged to visit our office twice a year for a comprehensive teeth cleaning since daily brushing and flossing typically only removes up to 70% of plaque. By visiting the dentist on a regular basis, patients receive professional, quality care that helps keep teeth as healthy as possible by examining for any potential problems and performing a comprehensive cleaning.
A comprehensive teeth cleaning includes a complete examination for any signs of tooth decay, gum disease or oral cancer. Early detection of these conditions helps ensure effective treatment and prevents permanent damage from occurring. Dr. Bishop and Dr. Kim will use your most recent X-ray images along with a physical examination to identify any problem areas.
Patients will then receive a cleaning from one of our dental hygienists. At the Dentist of Allen, we are proud to offer the latest equipment and technology that lets our patients experience the most state-of-the-art services. We accomplish this by offering a prophy-jet (baking soda cleaning) and the cavitron (water scaler). We also use digital x-rays with less than 5% exposure to radiation.
X-Rays
X-ray images are valuable tools used in the examination and diagnosis of dental conditions. X-rays should be taken at regular intervals or as needed by each individual patient. At the Dentist of Allen, we utilize the latest technology through digital X-rays. Digital X-rays are safer and more convenient, as they provide immediate results and expose patients to much lower radiation levels. The X-ray images allow your doctor to carefully inspect your teeth through high-quality images that can pinpoint the exact location of potential problems, as well as track the growth and development of your teeth and overall smile.
